28 Caltex Scholars Earn TESDA Certification as Auto Mechanics

Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), the marketer of Caltex fuel and lubricants, in collaboration with the AmCham Foundation Philippines (ACFPI), recently honored 28 graduates from the AmCham Foundation Scholarship Program. These scholars completed a 15-month Automobile Mechanics training course at Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati, earning TESDA certification as Auto Mechanics. The training program also included a four-month internship at Caltex-branded workshops under the Caltex Mechanics Pool initiative, providing practical experience for the scholars.

The scholars were carefully selected by AmCham representatives and underwent extensive training designed to equip them with essential skills in automotive mechanics. Daisy Palor, project manager of the AmCham Foundation, emphasized that graduation marks a new chapter for the scholars. “We are proud of our first batch of graduates and will continue supporting them until they achieve career success and are able to give back to their communities,” Palor said. Among the graduates, Karlito Luis Manuel, the Gold and Exemplary Conduct Awardee, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chevron and shared his hope to one day offer the same opportunities to others.

Jhon Keven Eugenio, another exemplary graduate and recipient of the Perfect Attendance and Volunteerism Awards, echoed similar sentiments of appreciation. He thanked Chevron for the invaluable support that allowed him to complete his studies at Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati. Raissa Bautista, Senior Corporate Affairs Manager at Chevron Philippines Inc., concluded by encouraging the graduates to give back to the community and inspire future scholars, highlighting the significance of the partnership with AmCham Foundation in fostering sustainable development through education.
