Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) took a significant step forward in modernizing public transportation by delivering 15 units of the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 to the MIMAROPA Transport Cooperative. These new vehicles are set to enhance the commuting experience for residents traveling from Calapan City to Pinamalayan in Oriental Mindoro.
While previously operating UV express vehicles on the same route, the cooperative made its first-ever purchase of Isuzu vehicles to accommodate the growing number of commuters in the area and align with LTFRB franchising guidelines for long-distance routes.
Albert Cayetano, Chairman of the Board of MIMAROPA Transport Cooperative, explained the choice, stating, “We chose Isuzu because of its renowned durability, fuel efficiency, and ease of maintenance. These modern PUVs will elevate the quality of service we provide to our customers in the area.”
The Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 is powered by a 4JH1-TC Blue Power Diesel Engine, known for its durability and ease of maintenance, with readily available parts nationwide. Manufactured by CENTRO, the Isuzu PUV Class 3 can comfortably accommodate up to 23 passengers, making it ideal for long trips, especially in provincial areas. Compliant with PNS guidelines, it comes equipped with GPS, CCTV, Speed Limiters, Dashboard Cameras, Wi-Fi, and an Automated Fare Collection System, enhancing both driver and passenger convenience.
When asked about the continued success of Isuzu’s PUV sales, IPC VP for Sales, Yasuhiko Oyama, explained, “At Isuzu, we prioritize listening to our customers to provide the best business solutions. Considering the cooperative’s route and operational needs, the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 emerged as the best fit for them. In addition to our durable products, our robust aftersales support is a key factor, especially for fleet customers. We ensure that our parts are readily available nationwide and maintain dealerships in strategic locations. For those in remote areas, we offer servicing through our Mobile Medic trucks. We understand the importance of minimizing vehicle downtime, so we offer swift support.”
Isuzu, the Philippines’ leading truck brand, continues to provide top-quality products and excellent aftersales service, attracting loyal customers and new clients alike throughout the country.
