foodpanda logistics commemorates Women’s Month by launching a livelihood program tailored for female members of their Ka-panda delivery team.

Officially unveiled on International Women’s Day, the initiative named Ka-pandaBIZ: Women on Wheels (WoW) aims to equip selected beneficiaries with the necessary skills and resources to establish their own small businesses. Through this program, participants will undergo training and receive a business capital of Php 100,000.

Ron Sanders, Rider Experience Lead of foodpanda logistics Philippines, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the success and prosperity of their delivery partners, particularly women within the Ka-panda community. Notably, there has been a significant increase in female representation within the foodpanda logistics delivery fleet, a testament to their focus on inclusivity and empowerment.

Sanders highlighted the transformative impact of Ka-pandaBIZ: WoW, stating that it not only celebrates women but actively contributes to enhancing their productivity, income, and overall quality of life. The program will provide online training sessions, mentorship opportunities, retail store visits, and regular catch-ups with mentors, facilitated in partnership with HAPINOY, an official partner organization of foodpanda logistics.

Mark Ruiz from HAPINOY shared that the initiative aligns with their HapiSkwela program, which aims to empower micro-entrepreneurs by providing comprehensive training, business tools, and personal development opportunities. Ruiz expressed their enthusiasm for collaborating with foodpanda logistics, emphasizing their shared dedication to upskilling and providing sustainable livelihoods for women.

Addressing the broader context of declining female labor force participation, Sanders stressed the importance of offering equal opportunities for women to join the delivery fleet. He extended an open invitation to all women interested in becoming delivery partners, reaffirming foodpanda logistics’ commitment to supporting them throughout their journey.

Ka-pandaBIZ: WoW is an integral part of foodpanda logistics’ larger livelihood program, Ka-pandaBIZ, which seeks to empower delivery partners and their families through sustainable economic opportunities. Three Ka-pandas have already successfully graduated from the program, equipped with startup capital and comprehensive business training for their sari-sari stores. Sanders expressed optimism that the current beneficiaries of Ka-pandaBIZ: WoW will follow suit, becoming thriving micro-entrepreneurs who drive positive change within their communities.
