Grab Philippines has granted full-ride college scholarships to six exceptional freshmen through its GrabScholar program. These students, pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Business, represent diverse regions of the Philippines and will receive comprehensive scholarship packages covering tuition, school supplies, living expenses, and a monthly stipend. The program also includes an opportunity for the scholars to intern with Grab Philippines, supporting their career aspirations.
Among the recipients are Chloe Cipriano, an Information Technology student at PHINMA Saint Jude College Manila, aiming to become a cybersecurity expert or software developer; Genille Gonzales, a Business Administration student at National University – Fairview, aspiring to a future in public service; and Knash Alsonado, a Legal Management student at the University of the East, preparing to pursue a legal career. Each scholar has faced personal and financial challenges, with the scholarship providing crucial support for their academic and professional goals.
The GrabScholar program is designed to provide educational opportunities to underprivileged students, ensuring they can focus on their studies without financial burdens. This year, the program also supported 300 K-12 students with bursaries and helped 150 aspiring professionals in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry.
Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda personally welcomed the GrabScholars, praising their hard work and determination. He emphasized that GrabScholar is not just about financial aid but is an investment in future leaders and innovators who will make an impact in their communities.
Now part of the Grab community, the GrabScholars are well on their way to achieving their dreams with the support of the GrabScholar program, co-facilitated with BagoSphere. The initiative has now supported a total of 18 college students through full scholarships.
Grab continues its mission to empower deserving students, helping them achieve their academic and career goals while contributing to society’s progress through education and opportunity.
