Flash Express, a leading delivery service provider in the Philippines and the region, has taken a significant step towards decarbonizing its operations by partnering with Shell Fleet Solutions through the Accelerate to Zero initiative.
The collaboration aims to gather data on Flash Express’s carbon footprint using Shell Fleet Solutions’ Application Programming Interfaces (API) and to implement strategies to reduce the emissions of its extensive fleet.
The logistics market in the Philippines is expected to grow significantly by 2027, driven by various factors including increased demand for food, beverages, and manufacturing products. However, the environmental impact of this growth has not been adequately addressed.
While motorcycles, the primary vehicles used for delivery services, have a relatively small carbon footprint, the efficiency of many trips remains low. Motorbike delivery operators often make inefficient trips for small deliveries over considerable distances.
Through Shell Fleet Solutions’ Accelerate to Zero initiative, Flash Express will analyze its data, gain actionable insights, and access solutions to transition towards decarbonization.
Christopher Alli, Country Business Manager for Shell Fleet Solutions, expressed hope that Flash Express will utilize other offerings within the Accelerate to Zero program, such as carbon offset programs and telematics systems, to achieve its decarbonization goals.
The Accelerate to Zero program is designed to support fleet operators in adopting sustainable practices, catering to vehicles ranging from motorcycles to vans and trucks.
