Access Plus Racing Nears 2024 PSBK Title After Double Victory at Batangas Circuit

Timothy Joseph “TJ” Alberto of Access Plus Racing is now just one victory away from securing his fourth consecutive title in the Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK). Alberto delivered an impressive performance at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) over the weekend, securing two race wins and extending his lead to 39 points, with only one round remaining in the 2024 season.

The team put in extra hours to maximize the performance of Alberto’s #77 Ducati Panigale V4, responding to anticipated technical updates from their rivals. Despite a rain-delayed qualifying session, Alberto set a new track record with a time of 1:32.995, securing pole position for both races. In the first race, Alberto fended off a close challenge from Marvin Mangulabnan on the Aprilia, leading from start to finish and crossing the line with a 5.854-second advantage.

Race 2 followed a similar pattern, with Mangulabnan pushing hard to close the gap, but Alberto’s flawless ride kept him ahead. The two battled closely throughout, but Alberto maintained his composure, securing his second victory of the day with a slim 0.296-second margin.

With these back-to-back wins, Alberto and Access Plus Racing are now within reach of the 2024 PSBK title. The final round of the championship is scheduled for October 12-13 at the Clark International Speedway, where Alberto will aim to clinch the title and add another chapter to his racing legacy.
