Ahead of the imminent 2024 Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK), Access Plus Racing has unveiled its key contenders for the upcoming season.
The team is poised for a potential 4-peat with reigning champion Timothy Joseph “TJ” Alberto, who clinched the Rider of the Year titles in ’21, ’22, and ’23. Joining him in the formidable lineup is his younger brother Troy Alberto, who will compete alongside him in the Overall and Pro Classes.

Both riders will commandeer the latest-spec Ducati Panigale V4, a machine that made a significant impact in the PSBK last season. Lighter, smarter, and faster, the Panigale V4 represents the closest iteration to a competition WorldSBK bike. It propelled the elder Alberto to 6 overall victories and 5 podium finishes last year, securing the championship in style.

Adding to the team’s arsenal for 2024 is official partner Shell Advance, whose fully synthetic range has been chosen for its optimal performance and protection. Recommended by Ducati for its exceptional qualities, Shell Advance oils meet the rigorous demands of racing, ensuring peak performance of the Ducati Panigale V4. With protection against extreme temperatures up to 175-deg Celsius, additional horsepower reaching 355.9 km/h, and enhanced fuel efficiency for extended races at 17,000 rpm, the partnership sets a high standard for performance and reliability.
The Alberto brothers have undergone extensive testing in preparation for the 2024 championship, showcasing a closely matched pace. This promises an electrifying season as they spearhead Access Plus Racing towards further victories.
TJ Alberto aims to secure a historic 4th consecutive title, while Troy Alberto, returning from his WorldSSP300 campaign, is set to make a full-time comeback in the Philippines. Having last raced on the PSBK grid in 2021, with a wildcard appearance in 2023, Troy is eager to assert his prowess alongside his brother.
The Philippine Superbike Championship 2024 Calendar sets the stage for thrilling competition across six rounds, commencing on May 11-12 at the Batangas Racing Circuit and concluding on October 13 at the Clark International Speedway.
TJ Alberto (#77) reflects on the upcoming season, expressing excitement for the sibling rivalry within the team: “2024 will be a very interesting season. Not only will I be aiming for my 4th consecutive title, but I’ll also be racing against my brother Troy who’s a really strong rider. We’re in the same team and we’re family, so it’s going to be interesting how that dynamic will play out. I’m really excited to start the season and having extra motivation this year to push even harder.”
Troy Alberto (#69) shares his enthusiasm for returning to the PSBK: “After two years racing out of the country, I’m excited to come home to the Philippine Superbike Championship. Myself and the team have been putting in the work the past few months and I feel ready to race. My target is to go for the win and to have fun racing hard against the other guys.”
Team manager Toti Alberto expresses gratitude for the support from Shell Advance and confidence in the team’s capabilities: “Happy to have Shell Advance join us in our journey to victory in the 2024 season, which a perfect match for our Ducati Panigale V4. Having both TJ and Troy at the helm, this is also our strongest ever lineup in PSBK. We’re confident that these two can ride at record pace and we’re praying that we can take this to the championship.”
