MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Honda Civic RS Turbo and the Isuzu D-Max 4×2, respectively hailed the Car and Truck of the Year winners last year take a piece of the limelight at the 26th Transport Show slated from April 20-23 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Both entries reigned supreme after the Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI)—a non-stock/ non-profit organization of motoring journalists dedicated to determine the best vehicles in the market through an annual rigorous testing process—scrutinized and screened over 70 vehicles in 2016 with the assistance of world-renowned auditing firm KPMG, Carmudi Philippines and Ayala Land.
“This is a chance for us to display the victors from last year after a thorough screening process. It’s one way for the public to know that the citation given to these vehicles are not just any other ordinary award,” said CAGI president Ronald de los Reyes.

“We are grateful to the organizers of the event for it,” he added.
The Car and Truck of the Year honors are the only awards in the country based on instrumented tests to gather evidence of real world acceleration, braking, and handling performance. The CAGI jurors examine and drive the vehicles to grade the aesthetics, ergonomics, comfort and driving dynamics. No other organization employs such stringent testing methods to determine the winners.
Other than the display, CAGI would continue to promote the advocacy through staging talks in various dealerships in May and June of this year.
