DITO warns the public anew on land scams

DITO Telecommunity appealed to the public anew to only transact with duly authorized representatives after it received reports of illegitimate groups in various provinces promising the public that their idle lands may be considered for site acquisition.

Atty. Adel Tamano, Chief Administrative Officer of DITO stressed that one of the signs of a potential “scam” is when alleged representatives approach land owners and collect registrations fee for a seminar or demand advance commission before processing the alleged requirements.

The DITO spokesperson further said, “We ask for the public’s support by way of dealing only with authorized representatives of DITO, and reporting questionable persons and practices to the Department of Information and Communications Technology as we are working closely with them to protect the welfare of land owners.”
