Ford Philippines today launched the first-ever Ranger Raptor, Ford’s high-speed, off-road, performance pick-up truck, and announced official pricing for the Philippines.
The Ranger Raptor is available at all Ford dealerships nationwide starting September 22, and priced at PHP1,898,000. Customers can also ride and experience the Ranger Raptor at the Ford Island Conquest Year 2 in Arca South, Taguig City on Saturday, September 22.
“We are excited to welcome the highly-anticipated Ranger Raptor to the Philippines. The Ranger Raptor showcases the best of Ford Performance’s expertise in vehicle design and engineering, and we know our customers are really looking forward to enjoying its immense off-road capabilities,” said Bertrand Lessard, managing director, Ford Philippines.

The Ranger Raptor is available in five bold and enticing colors – including the new and unique Conquer Grey, Lightning Blue, Race Red, Shadow Black and Frozen White.
The ultimate Ranger is purposefully-designed, built and tested to set a benchmark as the only factory-built performance truck across Asia Pacific. Designed by Ford Performance team for the true enthusiast off-roader, Ford Ranger Raptor strengthens Ford’s commitment to deliver “Built Ford Tough” pickup trucks to Filipino customers.
Powerful Bi-Turbo Performance
The Ranger Raptor is equipped with a new 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo diesel engine that delivers a maximum of 213PS of power and 500Nm of torque. The 2.0L Bi-Turbo takes advantage of sequential turbocharging to deliver greater responsiveness, drivability and maximum efficiency. A pair of turbochargers are employed for maximum performance and efficiency. A variable geometry turbocharger is employed to deliver greater throttle response and eliminate lag by spooling up quickly at low speeds. The second unit is a fixed geometry turbocharger with a high flow capacity to deliver maximum power and performance.
The Ford-designed and Ford-built 10-speed automatic transmission is shared with the F-150 Raptor and has been created with high-strength steel, aluminum alloys and composites to optimize durability and weight. Having 10 gears means a wider ratio-span resulting in better acceleration and responsiveness.
Bold Design and Exterior
The Ranger Raptor features distinctive design cues inside and out that are functionally driven. At the front, a stunning new grille takes styling cues from the F-150 Raptor with the iconic block FORD lettering proudly positioned within the grille design. The front bumper also includes new LED fog lamps with functional air-curtain ducts, which help to reduce air resistance of the body.
Using composite materials, the front fenders not only look tough, but resist dents and dings often associated with off-road usage. Ground clearance has also been increased to 283mm, making it a serious off-road performance machine.
Performance-Bred Interior
Inside, the Ranger Raptor offers a tailored Ford Performance DNA interior design with a high level of craftsmanship, harmonious colors and durable materials suitable for both off-road driving and everyday use.
The seats are specially designed for off-road high speed performance support, allowing the driver to engage in enthusiastic handling, while also providing superior on-road comfort.
Always-Ready Chassis and Suspension
The Ranger Raptor’s chassis frame is a new unique frame that is specifically designed for the vehicle to travel at high speeds off road. Its innovative new coilover rear suspension uses a Watt’s link setup with solid rear axle to provide superior lateral control off-road while also helping improve ride and handling.
The Ranger Raptor’s Position Sensitive Damping (PSD) shock absorbers are exclusively manufactured by FOX, designed to provide higher damping forces at full jounce and rebound to enable better off-road capabilities. The Watt’s linkage rear suspension has been specifically crafted to tackle tough terrain at high-speed while remaining in complete control and comfort.
Built to withstand high-impact off-road events, Ranger Raptor’s frame consists of various grades of high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel. The stiffened side-rails are made from increased HSLA grade steel to absorb off-road high speed impacts.
All-terrain BF Goodrich 285/70 17-inch tires have been specially developed for the Ranger Raptor to ensure its stability on and off-road.
Taking on the Baja Mode
The Ranger Raptor’s Terrain Management System (TMS) includes the Baja mode, inspired by Mexico’s famous Baja Desert Rally, and enables ultra-responsive, high-speed off-road performance. In this mode, vehicle systems like Traction Control are pared back to allow spirited off-road driving without intervention from the vehicle’s on-board systems. Gear selection is optimized for maximum performance, and the mapping will hold gears longer and downshift more aggressively.
Practical Technology on Hand
Ranger Raptor comes with a host of advanced Driver Assist Technologies (DATs) at the push of a button. These include SYNCÒ 3 – a fully integrated, voice activation system that lets the driver use their favorite devices while their hands stay on the wheel and eyes on the road. The Satellite Navigation System comes into its own when off-roading in remote areas, even offering a ‘breadcrumb’ feature to leave a trail when entering unchartered areas – perfect for the serious off-roader.
Ford’s comprehensive Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system is also there to help in difficult cornering and braking situations. The impressive technology suite includes Trailer Sway Control (TSC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Load Adaptive Control (LAC).
“The Ranger Raptor is truly the ultimate Ranger. With its bold appearance and extreme, off-road performance features, the Ranger Raptor represents a unique offering that we know Filipinos are really going to get excited about,” said Rodel Gallega, vice president, Marketing and Sales, Ford Philippines.
