The company sold a total of 955,730 vehicles, marking a 41% increase compared to the same period last year. A standout aspect of this growth was the significant rise in international sales, which reached 197,428 vehicles, reflecting a year-on-year increase of over 67%. This surge in overseas sales underscores Geely’s successful execution of its globalization strategy, which emphasizes high-value expansion through advancements in product development, service quality, channel expansion, and supply chain optimization.
In 2024, Geely made significant strides in expanding its global footprint. The company introduced the Geely Starray in Panama in January, followed by the overseas debut of the new Geely Preface in Saudi Arabia and the launch of the Geely Okavango in Kazakhstan in May. These launches have been pivotal in enhancing Geely’s market presence and demonstrating its commitment to meeting diverse mobility needs through a “multi-energy product strategy” that includes fuel, electric, and hybrid vehicles. This strategy has been instrumental in providing an intelligent and high-quality mobility experience for customers worldwide.
Geely’s models have garnered significant acclaim in various international markets. The Coolray SUV, known for its exceptional performance and dynamic design, has become a top choice for B-segment SUVs, ranking among the top three Chinese brands in its segment in seven countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kazakhstan. The flagship Monjaro model has also set new sales records, ranking among the top three Chinese automotive brands in five countries. Additionally, the new-generation Emgrand and the recently launched Okavango have achieved rapid growth and strong sales performance, further cementing Geely’s presence in key markets.
In response to the complex and evolving industry environment, Geely has adopted a high-quality development strategy tailored to the specific characteristics of different countries and regions. This approach involves building localized ecosystems and strategies with a user-centric focus, aiming to deliver mobility experiences that exceed global expectations. In the first half of 2024, Geely expanded its global footprint by adding over 120 new sales and service outlets, bringing the total to more than 650 sales and service points across 76 countries and regions. This expansion has deepened Geely’s connection with overseas customers and strengthened its brand reputation.
Looking ahead, Geely Auto Group is poised for continued growth and expansion in global markets. With an annual export target of 380,000 units for 2024, the company plans to further enhance its market segmentation, product innovation, brand rejuvenation, and global supply chain capabilities. Geely aims to revitalize local automotive industries by partnering with dealers and retailers, leveraging localization advantages, and driving innovation in industry practices.
