Globe’s 917Ventures, Ayala Corp, and Gogoro Unite for a Collaborative Effort to Drive Sustainable Urban Transportation in the Philippines

Globe’s 917Ventures Inc., Ayala Corporation, and Gogoro have solidified their collaboration through an impactful agreement, establishing a Joint Venture named Gogoro Philippines Inc. (Gogoro Philippines). This partnership is set to redefine the transportation landscape in the Philippines, introducing an era of sustainable mobility driven by Gogoro’s groundbreaking electric two-wheel vehicles and its innovative battery swap network.

This strategic alliance was initiated in the previous year and saw the unveiling of the first GoStation at the Globe headquarters in Taguig City in April 2023, followed by the launch of a pilot program for Globe employees.

Gogoro Smartscooters® are already a presence on the streets of Manila, with Globe employees participating in a two-month pilot program that involves over 50 vehicles. This initiative aims to gather valuable customer insights ahead of the commercial launch later this year. These electric vehicles (EVs) leverage Gogoro’s innovative battery-swapping platform, enabling users to seamlessly exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones within seconds.

Gogoro’s battery-swapping system has achieved remarkable success in Taiwan, where its battery-swapping stations outnumber gas stations in urban areas. This network represents a new era of swappable battery refueling that is intelligent, secure, and continuously adapts to the needs of riders, businesses, and communities.

The Gogoro Network caters to nearly 550,000 riders and boasts over 1.1 million smart batteries in circulation, distributed through its extensive network of over 12,000 battery swapping stations at more than 2,500 locations across Taiwan. With 400,000 daily battery swaps and an impressive total of over 480 million battery swaps to date, the Gogoro Network has contributed to saving more than 680,000 tons of CO2 emissions since its launch.
