Grab Philippines Breaks Ground on Grab Asenso Center in Marikina: Empowering Driver-, Rider-, and Merchant-Partners

Grab Philippines has officially commenced construction on the Grab Asenso Center in Marikina City, a dedicated facility designed to empower its growing network of driver-, rider-, and merchant-partners, including those from MOVE IT, Grab’s motorcycle taxi platform. Spanning one hectare, this innovative hub will offer comprehensive programs focusing on onboarding, skills training, road safety assessments, and digital capacity building—paving the way for more inclusive digital economic opportunities in the Philippines.

The Grab Asenso Center is a testament to Grab’s mission of fostering inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods through technology and innovation. It signifies the company’s deep commitment to enhancing the professional development and welfare of its partner communities across its diverse services in the country.

Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines Country Head, led the ceremonial groundbreaking, underscoring the center’s potential to drive inclusive prosperity. “For over 13 years, Grab has been a platform that drives not just economic activity but meaningful impact,” Roda emphasized. “The Grab Asenso Center will ensure our partners—whether drivers, riders, or merchants—are equipped to succeed in today’s digital-first economy. This facility reflects our commitment to uplifting communities and empowering everyday entrepreneurs to thrive.”

This initiative accelerates Grab’s ongoing pledge to create 500,000 livelihood opportunities. The Grab Asenso Center will play a pivotal role in sustaining this momentum, while catering to the evolving needs of both Grab’s driver-partners and MOVE IT’s rider-partners.

DOTr Secretary Bautista and leaders from Grab Philippines inspect the ongoing construction of the expanded Grab Asenso Center

During the event, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista highlighted the center as a model of public-private collaboration in advancing transportation and livelihoods. “App-based platforms like Grab are key drivers of inclusive growth, bridging technology and opportunity,” Bautista noted. “The Grab Asenso Center complements our efforts to modernize mobility while creating more dignified and sustainable livelihoods for transport workers.”

Set to be fully operational by Q1 2025, the Grab Asenso Center will replace the existing Grab Partner Center and feature expanded facilities, including a state-of-the-art road safety training and assessment area, enhanced spaces for onboarding and orientation, and dedicated upskilling areas for both Grab and MOVE IT partners. Through these programs, Grab ensures that all its partners, regardless of platform, are equipped with the necessary skills, tools, and support to thrive in the digital economy.
