“Vintage GrabCars to tour passengers around BGC from June 10-12 for Independence Day and Grab’s 4th Anniversary”
It’s not everyday you get to see vintage cars, cars that are probably older than you, on the streets. Much less, get to ride in them for free, right?
Grab Philippines, Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing app, is travelling back in time this Independence Day with Journey to Grab — a showcase of the evolution of transportation in the Philippines. Time-honored vehicles from the 1920’s up until the 1960’s will be rolled out as GrabCars for the weekend.
From June 10 to 12, Grab will be giving passengers a chance to book these classic cars for free and take old school rides around Bonifacio Global City (BGC).
According to Grab Philippines’ Country Marketing Head Khriz Lim, the activity is part of the month-long celebration of their 4th year anniversary, which aims to delight their passengers and thank them for the support throughout the four years.
“We see a future where transportation will be accessible to everyone who needs it and Grab is glad to be able to assist in making this future happen,” said Grab Philippines’ Country Marketing Head, Khriz Lim. “Grab continues to revolutionize the way people move by sending different transport options to our passengers with a few taps on their smartphones. But as we look forward to more years, we also want to look back and give our passengers a timeless transport experience unique only to vintage cars,” said Lim.
From a 1920’s Cadillac to a 1960’s Jaguar, passengers will be able to book a free 15-minute ride around BGC.
To book, GrabCar passengers can follow these easy steps:
1. Passengers need to be at the Journey to Grab station by Central Square, BGC Highstreet, 5th Avenue to book.
2. Open the Grab app
3. Select the special icon, GrabCar (Vintage)
4. Input Central Square as both pick up and drop off points
5. Confirm the booking
6. An old school GrabCar will pick passengers up and take them around BGC for 15 minutes for free.
“Journey to Grab is the perfect way to look back at how far we’ve come since launching back in 2012. What started out as our CEO, Anthony Tan’s, school project is now the number one transport app in the region. We’re now in six (6) countries across Southeast Asia with over 300,000 drivers in our network. Our mission of driving Southeast Asia forward is within reach,” said Lim.
