Honda Philippines Donates Generators to Empower Communities in Crisis

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) has demonstrated its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility by donating 70 units of 6.5KVA generator sets to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). This partnership with PRC, which has been instrumental in community support during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and Super Typhoon Odette, aims to enhance emergency response efforts in affected areas.

During the turnover ceremony, HPI President Sayaka Arai emphasized the importance of supporting life-saving programs during calamities. The donated generators will ensure reliable power for PRC chapters, facilitating timely assistance, powering essential medical equipment, and maintaining communication during disasters—key elements for effective relief coordination. This initiative is particularly relevant given the ongoing threats posed by natural disasters and the current La Niña conditions.

Present at the ceremony were HPI executives, including Vice-President Jomel Jerezo, alongside PRC Chairman Richard Gordon and Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang. Arai expressed Honda’s dedication to supporting reputable institutions like PRC, highlighting the company’s shared values in saving lives and improving the quality of life for Filipinos.

Honda Philippines, a leading manufacturer of motorcycles and power products, strives to be a company that society values. Through its various advocacies—focused on clean surroundings, quality education, community improvement, and road safety—HPI aims to contribute to a sustainable society by enhancing mobility and comfort for its customers.
