Isuzu Philippines Strengthens Technical Education with Equipment Donation to Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) continues to reinforce its commitment to empowering the next generation of automotive professionals through technical education. On September 4, 2024, IPC strengthened its long-standing partnership with the Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School for Arts and Trade (JZGMSAT) by donating industry-standard equipment to enhance the school’s automotive service shop. The donation, led by IPC President Tetsuya Fujita, included a Tire Changer, Wheel Balancer, and Tools Drawer, equipping students with state-of-the-art tools in line with current industry standards.

This donation is part of IPC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at improving the skills and competency of future service technicians in the Philippines. “Our collaboration with JZGMSAT is a key part of our CSR initiatives, as it aligns with our mission to foster technical education and skills development in the automotive sector,” said Fujita. “It’s fulfilling to see how our contributions are making a tangible difference in students’ lives, and we are committed to continuing this journey of support.”

Since the partnership began in 2017, IPC has donated a variety of essential equipment, including computers, mock engines, and automotive lifters, all of which have significantly enhanced the school’s curriculum. In addition to these donations, IPC has provided specialized training in diesel technology, giving students valuable hands-on experience using advanced automotive equipment, thus preparing them for real-world industry demands.

Regional Director for TESDA IV-A, Archie Grande, underscored the importance of such collaborations, noting that industry partnerships are vital for bridging the gap between education and industry needs. “Our success as an educational institution is deeply tied to the support and collaboration of industry leaders like Isuzu Philippines. Their contributions play a crucial role in developing a skilled workforce that meets the evolving needs of the automotive sector,” Grande said.

Looking forward, IPC plans to expand its support to other educational institutions across the country, with a focus on creating lasting positive impacts on both students and the automotive industry. Fujita emphasized that the company’s CSR initiatives are designed to not only align with business objectives but also address community needs, ensuring that future generations of automotive professionals are well-equipped to contribute to the industry’s growth.
