The Underbone 150cc race category never fails to deliver excitement, and today’s Race 2, Round 3 of the Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship at Sportsland Sugo International Racing Course was no exception. It was John Emerson Inguito from the 4S1M EVO YAMAHA Racing Team who emerged victorious, showcasing his incredible talent with a final dash towards the chequered flag.
Looking back at Race 1, which took place yesterday, spectators witnessed a fast and furious battle among the riders. The lead position exchanged hands multiple times, but notable performances came from Nazirul, who maintained composure among the top three riders and secured victory through slipstreaming, Wahyu Aji, who displayed exceptional riding techniques, and Gupita Kresna, who fought valiantly and claimed the third spot.
Race 2 began with Wahyu taking the lead, closely followed by Murobbil in second place. The duo started strongly, but Murobbil soon overtook Wahyu. However, Wahyu swiftly regained his position and by the end of lap 2, he was back in first place. As lap 3 concluded, Wawan took the lead, trailed closely by Nazirul in second place and Shafiq Rasol in third. The riders maintained their positions, strategically waiting for the right moment to make their move.
Midway through the race, Nazirul made a clever maneuver, surpassing Peerapong with Wahyu in close pursuit. The battle among Wahyu, Nazirul, Murobbil, and Peerapong intensified at the Sugo circuit, as they took turns occupying the top three positions. With only two laps remaining, managing momentum and position within the leading group became crucial. As the final lap approached, the riders prepared for one last push. Charging uphill, John Emerson, Nazirul, and Gupita raced towards the finish line, but it was John Emerson who crossed it first with a time of 18’01:380s.
