KYLE “THE WONDERBOY” PAZ OF YAMAHA PHILIPPINES RACING TEAM NEARS PODIUM IN MALAYSIA

Round 5 of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), held on September 13-15 at the Petronas International Circuit, Malaysia, ended in an exhilarating fashion for the Yamaha Philippines Racing Team. Both the Yamaha Tekhne Racing Team Asia and rider McKinley Kyle Paz pushed hard in their quest to reach the pinnacle of the team standings.

Paz, known as “The WonderBoy,” has been a consistent force throughout the season, accumulating valuable points across multiple races. His standout performance remains his 3rd place podium finish at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand. Despite not replicating that result, he came tantalizingly close this weekend. Starting from 7th on the grid in Race 2, Paz made a bold run and finished just outside the podium in 4th place. His determination and drive have been evident all season, as he continues to push himself to compete at the highest level.

Paz’s commitment to national racing has played a crucial role in keeping him sharp for these demanding international contests. With Yamaha Tekhne Racing Team now just 7 points behind the top team, they remain firmly in contention as they head into the season’s final round.

Meanwhile, the UMA MMR Yamaha Philippines Racing Team felt the absence of April King Mascardo, who is still recovering from an injury. This left Gian Carlo Mauricio, known as “The Flash,” to carry the team’s hopes on his own. Starting from 16th place in Race 1, Mauricio fought valiantly to finish 7th, earning critical points for the team.

As the racing season heads to its conclusion, all eyes are set on December 6-8 at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand. The potential return of Mascardo could provide the much-needed boost for Yamaha Philippines Racing Team as they aim for a strong finish to their 2024 campaign.
