Lenovo Elevates Its Role to Global Partner of Formula 1® with Renewed Multi-Year Deal

Lenovo and Formula 1® have announced the extension of their partnership, marking Lenovo’s transition to a Global Partner starting in early 2025. This enhanced collaboration includes Motorola, a Lenovo subsidiary, becoming the Global Smartphone Partner of F1. As part of this renewed agreement, Lenovo will provide cutting-edge technology solutions to support F1’s operations and will serve as the title sponsor for two races each season, with increased trackside branding at events.

Since becoming an Official Partner in 2022, Lenovo has been instrumental in F1’s operations, supplying High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, servers, and edge devices that power the sport’s broadcast and content creation. Lenovo’s hardware, including laptops, workstations, monitors, and Motorola smartphones, has been vital for F1’s staff, helping deliver high-quality and engaging content to a global audience. Lenovo’s technology supports F1’s goal of creating immersive fan experiences and efficient race operations.

Lenovo’s commitment to sustainability is also a key aspect of the partnership. Through its Asset Recovery Service, Lenovo helps F1 manage its retired computing hardware responsibly, recycling 95% of obsolete equipment and supporting F1’s Net Zero by 2030 goals. This service not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also enhances data security and reduces costs for the sport.

The partnership has already seen notable innovations, such as the world’s first kiss-activated trophies at the 2023 Japanese and United States Grands Prix, showcasing Lenovo’s integration of advanced technology with traditional elements. As F1 continues to grow in popularity, Lenovo and F1 will work closely to explore next-generation technologies and improve operational efficiencies. Stefano Domenicali, CEO of F1, and Yang Yuanqing, Chairman & CEO of Lenovo, expressed their enthusiasm for the strengthened collaboration, emphasizing a shared commitment to innovation, precision, and sustainability in the sport.
