MG Philippines kicks off this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) with an impressive display of 12 cars, including four groundbreaking, innovative, and sustainable electric vehicle (EV) offerings.
MG made a strong statement at MIAS by presenting the most extensive car lineup among all manufacturers at the event, underscoring its commitment to making a significant impact on the Philippine auto scene.
“With the largest and most diverse range of cars catering to every Filipino motorist, MG is poised to become the top choice for mobility in the Philippines,” said Felix Jiang, President of MG Philippines. “Our presence at this year’s MIAS reaffirms exactly what we bring to the table.”
Leading MG’s charge towards a sustainable electric future are the ZS EV and the MG4 XPOWER.
The sleek ZS EV represents a futuristic electric adaptation of the popular MG ZS compact crossover SUV, the brand’s best-selling model in the Philippines. Equipped with a robust 130kW electric motor and a 51kWh battery, the ZS EV delivers a range of approximately 320 kilometers on a full charge.
Meanwhile, the MG4 EV XPOWER is a sporty, high-performance all-wheel-drive electric hatchback. Powered by a 330kW motor, it generates 435PS of power and accelerates from 0 to 100kph in around 3.8 seconds, powered by a 64kWh battery.
Also turning heads at the event is the MG Cyberster, the British manufacturer’s inaugural all-electric roadster. Featuring a 77kWh electric battery and an AWD Dual Motor, the Cyberster is suited for various terrains. With its futuristic interior boasting a wrap-around triple screen and zero gravity seats, housed in a stylish two-door convertible body with a power folding roof, the Cyberster is a sight to behold. Following its teaser during the Cyberster World Tour featuring British adventurers, the Turner Twins, MG announced its availability for pre-orders in the Philippines.
Dedicated to advancing the future of EVs, MG offers additional options, including the MIFA 9 large electric minivan with a 90kWh battery. This seven-seater luxury van offers ample space and comfort, coupled with cutting-edge technology features such as a touch-enabled infotainment system.
Beyond EVs, MG unveiled other futuristic vehicles at MIAS.
The versatile MG3, the latest addition to MG’s lineup, strikes a balance between style, performance, and functionality, ideal for first-time car owners. It will also be the first hybrid electric vehicle in MG’s Philippine lineup.
The MG ONE, launched in February 2024, boasts a sleek and sporty design as the first car developed on MG’s SIGMA architecture platform, maximizing interior space for added features.
Rounding out MG’s lineup at MIAS 2024 are ICE offerings, including the MG7 sports sedan, equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, and the RX9 SUV, powered by a 2.0L engine. Also featured is the G50 MPV, offering an impressive eight-seater configuration and equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
