MOVE IT and MMDA Strengthen Partnership for Road Safety with Helmet Donation

MOVE IT, a homegrown motorcycle taxi company, has deepened its commitment to road safety by partnering with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) through the donation of brand-new helmets to the agency’s Motorcycle Riding Academy (MRA). The donation aims to make two-wheel training courses more accessible to both current and aspiring motorcycle riders. The MRA provides free riding sessions led by expert instructors, offering a curriculum tailored for both beginners and experienced riders. The helmets help lower barriers to participation, as participants are required to bring their own gear.

This latest initiative builds upon MOVE IT and MMDA’s ongoing partnership in promoting road safety. Previously, MOVE IT has worked with MMDA on various programs, including facilitating road safety courses and supporting MOVE IT’s in-app learning platform, the MOVE IT Academy. MOVE IT has also donated vital equipment to the MRA, such as agility cones, rider vests, and tents, to enhance the academy’s training facilities and improve the overall safety experience for participants.

MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto highlighted the importance of training and education in ensuring the safety of two-wheel motorists, whether private riders or motorcycle taxi service providers. MMDA Chairman Romando Artes expressed his gratitude for MOVE IT’s continuous support, underscoring the significance of collaboration between the government and private sectors in promoting road safety and cultivating a safety-first mindset on Metro Manila’s roads. This partnership marks the beginning of further initiatives focused on improving road safety throughout the year.
