Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and its joint venture in China, Dongfeng Motor Company Limited, have pledged 5 million RMB and 100,000 masks to support the fight against novel coronavirus in Hubei Province.
Since the viral outbreak that started in Wuhan, home to DFL’s headquarters, Nissan and DFL’s management team have been on alert for potential impacts on employees, dealers and suppliers in Wuhan and across the country.
“We are very concerned about the impact of the novel coronavirus,” said Shohei Yamazaki, senior vice president of Nissan, chairman of the Management Committee for China and president of DFL. “Wuhan, as well as Hubei Province, is an important base for Nissan in China. Through this donation, we hope to fulfill our responsibilities as a corporate citizen, while expressing our gratitude and standing side by side with the people of Wuhan and across China.
“We take the health and safety of our employees, dealers and suppliers and their families seriously. We are closely monitoring the coronavirus situation and the well-being of our employees, dealers and suppliers in Wuhan and in China, while keeping them informed and protected by providing them with all necessary support and precautionary tools.”
