Petron Corporation, the country’s leading oil company, invites aspiring artists to participate in the 2018 Vision Petron with the theme “Tuklas Kultura” (Rediscover Culture).
This year, the company’s multi-awarded student art competition aims to showcase what sets a Filipino apart in terms of how we live, what we do, make, think and value as a people. These may include our culture, heritage, habits, lifestyle, and values that are uniquely ours.
The competition is open to all Filipino college students or students of a tutorial class, aged 16-28 years old. Entries may be submitted in the following categories: painting (oil/acrylic, water-based), photography, t-shirt art design, video-making, and music or song-writing.
Each category is judged by a distinguished panel of experts in their field, and winners receive cash prizes and trophies. The winning works are featured in Petron marketing collaterals such as planners, calendars, and t-shirts and are promoted on radio and online.
The deadline for submission of provincial entries is on July 20, 2018, at Petron Bulk Plants nationwide, while the submission of entries at Petron’s Pandacan office is on July 28, 2018.
Now on its 18th year, Vision Petron has been widely acclaimed by different award-giving bodies and has produced notable graduates including the likes of Orley Ypon, CJ de Silva-Ong, Robert Besana, Mark Andy Garcia, Paul Quiambao, and Hector Barretto Calma.
