Continuing its thrust to educate the public with the best vehicles in the market, the Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI) is proud to announce that the 2015 Car of the Year – Philippines, the Mazda 2 Skyactiv R 4-door sedan, shall be on display at the 25th Trans Sport Show. This year’s show shall be held at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City from May 19 to 22, 2016.
With its strong mix of performance, driving excitement, refinement, and value for money, the Mazda 2 Skyactiv R 4-door sedan scored top points in a field of over sixty cars. It is also the latest in a long line of Mazdas to dominate at the awards.
“It is an honor for us at CAGI to participate in this year’s Trans Sport Show,” said Robby Consunji, president of the Car Awards Group, Inc. “We pray that this will be the start of a lasting partnership between our organizations with the goal of educating the motoring public,” he added.
Established in 2004, the Car Awards Group, Inc. is the longest-running organization of motoring journalists in the country today. Since its incorporation, the group has strived to find the best vehicles in the country through independent, and comprehensive testing. For the 2015 season, CAGI partnered up with the prestigious firm KPMG in order to refine its testing and scoring processes. Going beyond the traditional third party auditing of the results, an audit of the process itself helped to further improve the way the entries were scored.
CAGI’s testing and scoring process is composed of qualitative and quantitative criteria, plus other factors such as safety features and pricing compared to its competitors. Testfests are spread over several days, and entries are rated using evaluation instruments refined over the years, in order to give the most fair and unbiased opinion possible. The scoring is kept anonymous, allowing judges to vote without influence or bias. The COTY-P and TOTY-P award isn’t just about who is the biggest, strongest, and fastest, but who offers the most complete package.
