Suzuki Philippines’ Motorcycle Division successfully concluded the Luzon leg of the Suzuki Burgman Econo Run 2024 on May 11, 2024, with remarkable results: 94.6 km/L for the Burgman Street Standard and 76.52 km/L for the EX variant.
The event kicked off at the Suzuki Antipolo Motorcycle City 3S Shop and saw participation from nearly 70 riders and 30 media and motovloggers. The participants embarked on a fuel-efficiency challenge to Batis Aramin Resort and Hotel in Lucban, Quezon, navigating a route that included the bustling streets of Antipolo and the winding, hilly roads through Teresa, Morong, Pililia, Famy, Pagsanjan, and Louisiana, leading to the picturesque town of Lucban.
Participants followed a single route and rode in a convoy with set parameters. The suggested speed was between 40 kph and 60 kph, except in traffic where slowing down was necessary. Riders were not allowed to turn off their engines, and marshals were present to ensure adherence to the rules. Riders who failed to follow the rules were disqualified.

The Suzuki Burgman Street Standard and EX variants, known for their impressive fuel economy and comfortable riding experience, were the featured motorcycles for the challenge. Previous legs of the Burgman Street Econo Run in Visayas (April 13) and Mindanao (April 20) achieved fuel efficiency ratings of 93.70 km/L and 84.4 km/L, respectively. The Luzon leg participants did not disappoint, surpassing the previous results.
Winners shared their techniques for achieving remarkable fuel economy, including better throttle control, maintaining the right speed, correct riding posture, proper motorcycle maintenance, and riding in sync with the bike’s responsiveness to maintain a smooth pace. This event not only served as a fun and friendly contest but also promoted responsible riding habits for better fuel efficiency, particularly important given the high cost of living.
One media/motovlogger participant, EzeMoto, conducted his own fuel-economy run on a Burgman Street EX with a pillion on the same route, achieving a notable 59 km/L fuel consumption.
