Suzuki’s Vision for an Exciting Global Future at Japan Mobility Show 2023

Suzuki’s unwavering commitment to forging a brighter future for all shines through at the Japan Mobility Show, hosted at Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo Waterfront City, Japan from October 6 to November 5, 2023. The event provided a stage for Suzuki to showcase an impressive array of vehicles, each paired with a message that reflects the brand’s dedication to diverse initiatives aimed at achieving a carbon-neutral world.

Suzuki’s Captivating Pavilion

Suzuki’s booth dazzled with its vibrant ambiance and welcoming atmosphere, revealing an array of mobility options and services that are emblematic of the brand’s unique connection to people’s daily lives. Suzuki has evolved into a holistic mobility solutions provider, catering to the needs of everyone. The exhibit featured concept models of automobiles and motorcycles, as well as cutting-edge mobility solutions and outboard motors. All of this underscored Suzuki’s resolute commitment to multi-pathway initiatives on the road to carbon neutrality.

Two-Wheeled Marvels of Tomorrow

Suzuki unveiled its vision for the future of two-wheeled transportation, introducing concept and test models that are poised for global release in the upcoming years. These two-wheelers serve as foundational models for the development of future motorcycle technologies.

Suzuki Burgman e-Scooter

One standout offering is the Suzuki Burgman e-Scooter, an electric scooter equivalent to 125cc (modeled after the Burgman Street EX). This scooter, which emerged from a demonstration project in April 2023, leverages Gachaco’s exchangeable battery sharing service. The project is designed to collect data from everyday motorcycle use, such as commuting and shopping, to inform the development of electric motorcycles in the future.

Suzuki Hydrogen Engine Burgman

Suzuki’s foray into hydrogen engine research and development is another cornerstone of its multi-pathway initiatives for achieving carbon neutrality. Displayed was a cutaway of a test model, derived from the commercially available BURGMAN 400 ABS, fitted with a 70MPa hydrogen tank and engine. This serves as a testament to Suzuki’s dedication to hydrogen-powered engines.

Suzuki e-PO

Adding to its impressive lineup, Suzuki introduced the Suzuki e-PO, a foldable electric moped featuring a 50cc engine co-developed with Panasonic Cycle Technology, utilizing battery and powertrain units from e-bikes. The e-PO offers a higher level of assist function compared to typical e-bikes, ensuring a comfortable ride on regular roads, with three ride modes: fully electric, assisted, and pedal.

Suzuki e-Choinori

The Suzuki e-Choinori, a 50cc equivalent electric scooter, shares the same battery and powertrain units from Panasonic Cycle Technology e-bikes as the e-PO. Based on the iconic 50cc “Choinori” scooter introduced in 2003, this e-Choinori is designed to offer a simple and lightweight mode of transportation for short distances, accessible to anyone.

Also on display were the latest Suzuki motorcycles available in the Philippines, such as the V-STROM 250SX (shown alongside the popular Jimny 3-door model), the Hayabusa, and the GSX-8S.
