The implementation of maximum rates in driving schools continues on April 15. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the group of driving schools have united in providing affordable driver’s education, particularly with the approved maximum prescribed rates that will be enforced starting on the said date.
This followed the meeting held earlier today between the LTO and members of the Association of Accredited Driving Schools of the Philippines, Inc. (AADSPI), Philippine Association of LTO Accredited Driving Schools (PALADS), and other driving school companies in the country.
During the meeting, the attending driving schools expressed their support for the LTO’s goal to make the fees of driving schools reasonable and balanced while ensuring compliance with the agency’s new guidelines under Memorandum Circular No. JMT 2023-2390.
In accordance with the Memorandum, the maximum amount for Theoretical and Practical Driving Courses is P3,500 for motorcycle drivers and P5,000 for light vehicle drivers.
The driving schools also presented suggestions and clarifications regarding the memorandum circular, and LTO Chief Jay Art Tugade assured that inquiries will be addressed as soon as possible.
“LTO will remain open to suggestions that will help policies of the agency, such as the memorandum circular, be more effective and favorable to the majority of Filipinos,” emphasized LTO Chief Tugade.
