TJ Alberto to Race Solo for Access Plus Racing at Clark PSBK Event

Access Plus Racing will field a single entry at the Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK) third event this weekend at Clark International Speedway (CIS). Timothy Joseph “TJ” Alberto will continue his title defense, while his younger brother, Troy Alberto, recovers from an injury sustained in the previous round.

Riding the #77 Ducati Panigale V4, TJ Alberto has consistently finished on the podium in all his race starts this year. He achieved a clean sweep at the season opener in BRC and secured two second-place finishes in Round 2 at the same circuit, aided by Shell Advance’s fully synthetic oil that enhances performance and protection. These results place him at the top of the championship standings with a four-point lead as the series heads to CIS.

Access Plus Racing has a strong track record at the 4.189 km Clark circuit. The team has spent weeks testing in preparation for this race weekend, and the results have been promising.

Troy Alberto showed great promise at the start of the season, delivering strong results in Round 1 with a third and second-place finish. However, a crash on lap 6 of the second race in Round 2 resulted in a fractured vertebra, forcing him to miss this weekend’s race as he recovers.

The 2024 PSBK season continues at Clark International Speedway with Qualifying on Saturday (July 6) and both Races on Sunday (July 7).

TJ Alberto, #77: “We had good tests last week, which gives us confidence ahead of this weekend. We’ve also had a good record at Clark every time we race there and we plan on maintaining the momentum into Round 3. The goal is to keep my position at the top of the championship table as I defend my title. It’s just unfortunate that Troy won’t be able to race alongside me as he recovers from his injury.”

Troy Alberto, #69: “Sadly, I’ll be watching from the sidelines this weekend as I’m still recovering from my crash in Round 2. I would’ve loved to join TJ on the grid, but I’m just thankful that my injuries aren’t too bad and I’m recovering well. I wish the team the best and hope to be back as soon as possible. Special thanks to my LS2 helmet and Macna suit from Motoworld that kept me safe, and of course to God for watching over me.”

Toti Alberto, Team Principal: “As always, I pray for good results and a safe race for our riders. TJ will have to ride by himself this weekend while Troy watches from behind the pit wall with the rest of the team. We hope for a fair fight as the championship heats up and look forward to another strong weekend with Access Plus Racing.”
