TVS Launches TVS Apache RTR 200 IN Philippines

TVS Global Automobile Traders FZCO, the distribution arm of TVS Motor Company, one of India’s largest two wheeler manufacturers, launched its much-awaited motorcycle, TVS Apache RTR 200 in Philippines today.This versatile and visually exciting sports motorcycle sets the benchmark even higher with emphatic design language, superior performance backed by class leading technologies and an arresting interplay of attractive graphics.

A. Powered by the all new RTR 200 Engine:

   Designed to deliver an adrenalin rush with an exhilarating race performance, TVS Apache RTR 200 is powered by an advanced four valve racing O3C oil cooled over square, five-speed engine, equipped with balancer shaft mechanism and is programmed to whip up an impressive 15.46 KW (21 PS) @9000 rpm with a torque of 17.5 Nm @ 7000 rpm in a compression ratio of 9.7:1. 

Mr Pramod Kulkarni, Vice President – New Product Development said “The oil cooled combustion chamber with ram air assist enables the motorcycle to achieve an astounding 0-60 kmph in a mere 3.9 seconds. This makes it one of the most responsive motorcycles in its segment The NanofriKS technology used in coating of piston reduces the friction and wear and ensures smooth functioning of the engine.

The bike’s high flow double barrel exhaust system not only ensures smooth outflow of exhaust but also adds to the aesthetics of the TVS Apache RTR 200. The TVS R&D team has engineered a powerful signature exhaust note befitting this beasty sports motorcycle.

B. The Body & Chassis:

Racing origin split construction Double Cradle Split Synchro stiff Chassis (DCSSF) with radically improved torsional and lateral stiffness aid in exceptional control and maneuverability. Enhancing the performance and handling capabilities of the TVS Apache RTR 200 FI is a custom made Monoshock Suspension, developed by KYB Corporation. The 37 dia front suspensions also from KYB apart from ensuring greater frontal stability at high speeds as well as braking, adds to the aesthetics of the bike. The motorcycles sports 90X90 and 130X70 Pirelli tubeless tires(Optional) in the front and rear respectively that provides exceptional road grip. With an optimal vehicle layout , appropriate weight distribution the precision in cornering is an easy play.

The sporty Y spoke design on the alloy wheels adds beauty to this beast. The large roto-petal disc brakes on the front and rear deliver utmost safety to the riders.

The bike also boasts of a fully digital illuminated race diagnostic attractive console with lap timer and 0-60 and fastest lap time display.

C. The Design:

TVS Apache RTR 200 sports a brand new hyper aggressive design language. Said Mr Samrat Chakrabarty Country Manager, TVS Global Automobile Traders FZCO, Philippines “The design inspiration comes from the highly popular TVS X21 Draken street fighter, showcased in auto-exhibitions across the world. Precise lines and clean edges with bold, racing inspired contrasts best describe the bike. The aesthetically sculpted fuel tank with a uniquely offset cap can hold up to 12 liters of petrol.”

The compact head lamp with the unique LED DRL provides the beasty face to the TVS Apache RTR200. Aluminum forged split handle bar design enhances the sporty appeal of the bike.  

The uniquely designed in-situ molded (FIP) split seats complement the sporty design very well and deliver superior comfort to the rider and the pillion.  

Mr. Samrat Chakrabarty, said that the TVS Apache RTR 200 comes in 3 exclusive & luxurious Matte finishes – Syrah Red, Mystic White and Gun metal Black and is very competitively priced. There will be two variants available, first one will be the carburetor version with priced at only 94,990 Peso SRP and second one with Bosch powered DFi system and Pirelli tyres at only 109,990 peso SRP.
