Yamaha bLU cRU Camp: A Transformative Experience for Aspiring Filipino Racers

Yamaha Motor Philippines has once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing Philippine racing with the unforgettable Yamaha bLU cRU Camp. This initiative, aimed at both seasoned and aspiring racers, saw the creation of YCLUB Groups for the Mio Aerox and Sniper 155 models, providing a platform for riders to enhance their skills, discipline, and camaraderie. Held over a weekend, the camp was designed to refine the abilities of participants and foster a stronger racing community.

The selection process began on June 15, where riders were assessed based on their training and performance. Qualifying participants were then invited to Cebu for further skill development and competitive racing. Their performances in these races would determine their standings in the final round at Tarlac Circuit Hill. This rigorous process was not without its challenges, as inclement weather turned the track into a slippery surface, testing the riders’ adaptability and resilience.

A highlight of the camp was a special racing clinic led by Coach Joey Storm, who shared his expertise to unlock the potential of each rider. Yamaha Philippines Racing Team Riders McKinley Kyle Paz and Gian Carlo Mauricio also contributed their knowledge, imparting valuable skills that have propelled them to international success. Despite the tough conditions, riders persevered through their training and qualifying sessions, setting the stage for an exciting race day.

Race day brought heightened excitement as riders competed for more than just pride; the top performers earned a trip to the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia to witness the MotoGP’s finest in action. In the Mio Aerox bLU cRU YCLUB Race, Peter Paul Muñoz emerged as the champion rider, with ACP TEAM NEO RACING taking the overall team title. Laurence Kevin Cacal and SNIPER 155 TEAM PAMPANGA claimed victory in the Sniper 155 bLU cRU YCLUB Race. The camp not only provided these riders with a significant achievement but also an opportunity to witness the pinnacle of motorcycle racing, reinforcing Yamaha’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of Filipino racing stars.
