The Yamaha Philippines Racing Team is set to redefine the racing landscape in 2025, bringing an unparalleled level of excitement and ambition to the sport. With a dynamic roster ready to compete in the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) and a strong focus on developing future champions through the BLU CRU Program, Yamaha is not just racing—it’s leading a revolution in Filipino motorsport.
This year’s launch at the Carmona Racing Circuit was a celebration of speed, precision, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. Teams were honored for their stellar performances in 2024, showcasing the grit and determination that not only secured victories but also inspired countless Filipinos to chase their dreams.
McKinley Kyle Paz: A Trailblazing “Wonderboy”
Leading the charge in international competition is “Wonderboy” McKinley Kyle Paz, a trailblazer in Filipino racing. His outstanding performances have earned him and his team the top spot in the SS600 category in ARRC, with a podium finish in the first round and a 7th place individual ranking. Paz also dominated the 2024 Inside Racing Grand Prix, winning championships in the UB155 Ltd. GP, SS200 GP, and UB150 Open GP categories.
April King Mascardo: “The Rocketboy” Returns
After overcoming a major injury that prematurely ended his ARRC campaign, “Rocketboy” April King Mascardo is making a strong comeback. His third-place finish in the first round of ARRC last season showcased his resilience, while his performances in the Inside Racing Grand Prix saw him claim 2nd place in both the UB155 Ltd. GP and SS200 GP categories, and 1st place in the UB150 Open GP.
Gian Carlo Mauricio: Bidding Farewell to Racing
As Gian Carlo Mauricio shifts focus to his academic career, his contributions to the Yamaha Racing Team over the past three years leave a lasting legacy. A race champion in the second round of ARRC in China, Mauricio also made his mark in national competitions, racing alongside teammates Paz and Mascardo.
Satellite Teams Shining Bright
Yamaha’s satellite racing teams also had a remarkable season. The 4S1M Yamaha Racing Team, led by “The Hitman” JE Inguito, secured 4th overall in the UB150 category of ARRC. The SEC Yamaha Racing Team saw JD Purino crowned the 2024 MORAC UB King, while Bethany Tolentino claimed the MORAC SS LW Open Champion title. Their efforts helped the team achieve a four-peat victory as the UB Team Overall Champion in MORAC.
