The Yamaha Philippines Racing Team has demonstrated their prowess on the national stage after a challenging performance in round 4 of the ARRC at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia, held from July 26-28. Shifting their focus to the local competitions, the team set their sights on achieving remarkable success in the Philippines.
Despite the quick turnaround, riders McKinley Kyle Paz and Gian Carlo Mauricio showcased their exceptional skills at the Inside Racing Grand Prix. Both riders secured victories in the 300V Sprint Race Super Open UB GP and the Motul Super Open UB GP. In the sprint race, Paz, who started 3rd on the grid, managed to overcome his competitors and clinch 1st place. Mauricio, starting from the 7th position, fought his way through the pack to achieve a commendable 3rd place finish. In the Super Open category, the duo dominated the field, with Paz claiming first place, closely followed by Mauricio in second.

Building on their momentum, the following week saw the team competing in the RUGP, a race that was initially not part of their schedule. This particular competition had traditionally been dominated by other manufacturers, but Yamaha Philippines made a strategic decision to participate. Paz and Mauricio once again proved their mettle by ruling the Diablo Cup UB155 LTD GP and UB155 OPEN SP categories, further establishing their dominance on home soil.
These string of impressive performances in local tournaments have not only boosted the morale of the Yamaha Philippines Racing Team but also served as vital preparation for the upcoming round 5 of the ARRC. The next challenge awaits at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, scheduled for September 13-15. The team’s strong showing in the national events is expected to bolster their confidence and readiness for the international stage.
