With the rise of overlanding, American tire brand General Tire, boasting over 100 years of manufacturing experience since its founding in Ohio in 1915, is re-entering the Philippine market at the 2024 Trans Sport Show. Partnering with YHI Philippines, Inc., a leading importer and distributor of automotive products, General Tire aims to strengthen its presence in the country. Jason Delloso, General Manager of YHI Philippines, stated, “Our mission is to carry on the brand’s legacy. Since its acquisition by Continental in 1987, General Tire has been expanding its reach in the Asia Pacific, highlighted by a new manufacturing plant in Thailand. Jaey Wang, Continental’s Head of Sales and Marketing for Asia Pacific Export Markets, remarked, “Our advanced plant in APAC allows us to supply high-quality General Tire products with shorter lead times.” This expansion supports the rapidly growing Philippine overlanding community.
