#inDrive Engages Partner Drivers in Open Forum to Enhance Ride-Hailing Experience

inDrive, the global ride-hailing platform, recently held an open forum with its partner drivers at its Philippine headquarters in Quezon City to discuss improvements to the app and enhance the experience for all stakeholders. Drivers shared insights on optimizing the surge mechanism during rush hours, contingency plans for emergencies, and in-app features. Present at the forum were inDrive’s APAC Regional Director Mark Tolley, Business Development Head Sofia Guinto, Driver Operations Head for the Philippines Vanessa Taqueban, and Country Government Relations Manager John Louie Balagot, who listened to feedback and answered queries directly.

One key area drivers raised was the need to improve earnings during rush hours, weekends, and holidays. Guinto explained that inDrive is testing its surge mechanism at various times to optimize driver earnings while complying with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s fare regulations. inDrive aims to strike a balance between maintaining affordable fares for passengers and ensuring that drivers retain 90% of their earnings. While these tests are ongoing, inDrive has partnered with Coins.ph and Hivemapper to launch the country’s first blockchain-powered fleet, providing an additional income stream for drivers through map contributions.

This partnership integrates blockchain technology via Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), allowing inDrive drivers to install Hivemapper devices in their vehicles to improve global maps. Participating drivers can earn $HONEY tokens, which are stored and managed through their Coins.ph wallets. This initiative helps increase earnings, offering an innovative approach to supplement income.

Drivers also suggested that inDrive implement more robust contingency plans for emergencies, including rescue and SOS options, towing services, and vehicle troubleshooting. Guinto shared that inDrive is exploring partnerships to address these needs. Currently, inDrive has existing collaborations with Toyota Philippines Quezon Avenue and RideSecure Car Care Center, offering drivers free vehicle troubleshooting training and comprehensive insurance packages at discounted rates.
