MPT DriveHub Unveils Elite Cycling Team for Tour of Luzon 2025

As the highly anticipated revival of the Tour of Luzon approaches, MPT DriveHub—the official travel companion app of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC)—introduces its newly formed MPT DriveHub Cycling Team. Created in partnership with Huawei Philippines, the team brings together some of the country’s most talented cyclists from Luzon and Cebu, each driven by passion, discipline, and a shared love for the open road. This marks a significant step for the brand as it merges its commitment to mobility with the dynamic world of professional cycling.

Spearheading the team is veteran coach Santi Barnachea, a cycling icon from Pangasinan with over 20 years of competitive experience and numerous tour victories, including Ronda Pilipinas. A respected mentor, Barnachea instills in his riders the values of resilience and teamwork. “Every ride is a test of will,” he shares. “But with the right support, even the toughest roads feel possible. That’s the spirit we’re building with this team.”

The roster is led by team captain Mervin Corpuz of Pangasinan, a consistent top finisher in both local and international races such as the Tour of Thailand and Ronda Pilipinas. He’s joined by time trial ace Rustom Lim of Nueva Ecija, SEA Games medalist Jonel Carcueva—fresh off a three-year national championship streak—Cebu’s versatile Junreck Carcueba, rising star Mark Joseph Lobiano, and Ironman relay champion Khyll Lequin. Also joining the lineup is Nueva Ecija’s Riener Lim, a rookie sensation whose debut national title signals a promising future.

More than just a competitive initiative, the MPT DriveHub Cycling Team embodies the brand’s mission to empower safer, smarter travel for Filipinos.
