In today’s fast-changing work environment, flexible and technology-driven jobs have become important to many Filipinos. Grab Philippines, along with its motorcycle taxi partner MOVE IT, recently held the Saludo Partner Appreciation Concert to honor their hardworking platform communities. More than just a celebration, the event highlighted both companies’ commitment to building a safer, more inclusive, and more sustainable future for gig workers in the country.
For more than ten years, Grab has been a trusted platform for gig work in the Philippines. It has also played a major role in setting the standards for responsible and fair practices in the sector. As more people rely on gig work, Grab continues to show strong support for its workers by offering welfare benefits, useful tools, and partnerships that empower them to grow and succeed.
During the concert, Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda spoke to thousands of drivers, riders, and merchants. He emphasized that Grab is not just a tech company — it’s helping to shape the future of work in the Philippines. According to Roda, Grab believes gig work should provide decent income, fairness, and dignity. He also said that every worker, whether in traditional jobs or platform work, deserves protection and opportunity.
Grab’s approach to gig work is designed specifically for Filipino workers. The company provides important benefits like insurance during trips, emergency medical coverage, and contributions to SSS and Pag-IBIG. Grab also supports small business owners through tools like the AI Merchant Assistant, which helps them grow using smart and easy-to-use technology.
The Saludo Concert brought together thousands of partners and featured performances by top Filipino artists like Yeng Constantino, Gloc-9, Martin Nievera, Parokya ni Edgar, and Flow G. MOVE IT General Manager Wayne Jacinto spoke about how their goal is to turn informal motorcycle taxi work into more professional and respected jobs. Together with Grab, they aim to build a Filipino-first gig economy that values empathy, fairness, and long-term growth for everyone.
